DEAF DANCE I ГЛУВO КOЛO
is series of compositions, and a work in progress, tributing a dance from Glamoch, Bosnia. "Gluvo Kolo/Deaf Dance" dates from the Ottoman rule of the Balkans, when extreme laws banned celebrations and rituals specific to the cultural identity of the region. Men and woman living in the village danced only using the rhythm of their feet and jewellery to keep the beat.
This composition invites performers to explore their inner hidden sound with experimental and extended techniques.
